The idyllic location of The Lion at Settle in the heart of the local community ensures you're perfectly positioned to go off and explore the dramatic Yorkshire Dales countryside, local walking routes and all the little shops in the town itself. And, when you've explored to your heart's content, you can flop on to the comfiest of beds in one of 14 rooms, which have all been newly refurbished as part of our £750,000 renovation programme. But one thing that hasn't changed is the wonderful rustic furniture which adorns each of the rooms and has been part of the Inn for as long as we can remember of course, we've lovingly restored each piece and given it a bit of TLC. As you'd expect of a building that has been welcoming travellers since 1640, the corridors hold lots of secrets and still bear the nooks and crevices that held the candles to light the way to bed. After a peaceful night's sleep, wake up to the aroma of a freshly cooked breakfast made with delicious Yorkshire sausages, bacon and eggs from our local suppliers or why not try our signature dish Eggs Benedict? Our breakfasts are renowned for their hearty portions, so whether you're heading out walking or you're driving back home, our mouth watering home cooked food is guaranteed to set you up until at least lunchtime! From the M65 Northbound- Leave at Junction 13 (A682 to NelsonKendal) At the roundabout, take the 2nd exit heading to Kendal (A682). At the junction with the A59 turn right, then take the 2nd left onto the A682. After about 3 miles turn left at the A65. At the roundabout take the 2nd exit onto the B6480.
